E. and I took our daughter for first hike on a trail called Ice House Canyon, located below Mount San Antonio.
This shady trail winds past knarled old trees...
and mostly follows the path of a small mountain stream with just enough pools and small falls to make one remember that there is still beauty in this world.

We took our niece and nephew up there when we were babysitting them. They got pretty wet, but they had a really good time. It's gorgeous out there!
very envious of your opportunity. Do you remember our trip up to San Gorgonio, just you and me?? Backpacking marks the years of my life well. Wish we could get out again sooner than i know it will be.
San Gorgonio...camping at Dry Lake at around 9000ft surrounded by snow covered mountains...no smog, no traffic noise, no crowds of people, and a real mountain lake, despite the moniker. Nope, can't recall it at all. Do you have any pics you could send me, btw? I wouldn't mind something more concrete than my memory.
